The journey of God’s people from Abraham to the formation of the early Christian church. By examining the history and experiences of these men and women who had direct encounters with God, we can form a more clear understanding of who God is, and what He intends for His followers.
h3. Materials
Bible (student’s own – suitable for marking)
Journal (provided by teacher)
Textbook: His Story: Just in Time (provided by teacher)
Paper

An open mind and heart
Students will be expected come to class on time and participate in class assignments, projects, activities and discussions.
There will be a daily journaling exercise which involves at least a half page of written reflections. This is graded only on participation not on content. It is an opportunity for the student to express their thoughts and prayers. The student may fold over any pages which they would like to remain private and I will respect that privacy – only checking for participation.
Each week the student will be given a short passage of scripture which they will be expected to commit to memory. There will be a written quiz of memory texts on the first class period of each week. The student will create and maintain a “promise ring” of these scriptures.
The student will complete four projects during the year – one per quarter. While some time will be provided for working on these projects in class, the student should be prepared to spend a significant amount of time outside of class in order to complete the project.
There will be periodic quizzes (warning will always be given) and regular unit tests. Tests and quizzes will only include material covered in class, or specifically mentioned as being important.
Journaling – 10%
Scripture Memory – 15%
Participation – 20%
Projects – 25%
Tests / Quizzes 30%
