We, at HVCA, have an extremely busy summer in the works and this is your opportunity to sign up to help. Here are items that will need to be completed this summer and if you see something you are interested in, please call the school at 215.947.6595 or email me at rbianco@myhvca.org and give us your information. The list includes: building of a reading loft in the 1st/2nd grade classroom (June), painting of 3 classrooms (June/July), painting of gymnasium (June/July/August), build-ing of storage cabinets for gym stage (June/July), preparing field for community garden outreach program (June/July/August), painting of bridge (June/July), marking nature path for plant identification and mileage (June/July/August/September), moving of computer lab (June/July), moving of Kindergarten classroom (June/July), dismantling, painting, and redesigning library into a new classroom, and much more. As you can see, there is so much to do and very little time to do it. Please prayerfully consider helping out HVCA this summer with one or more of these projects. Thank you so much for your attention on this matter.
Next week is the annual Teacher Appreciation Week. I would love to en-courage all of you to find time to write that special teacher that is in your child’s life a little note of thanks for the countless hours they pour into your child. I know it would mean a lot to every teacher that you know.
On Thursday, May 17th, we will be holding our Kinder-garten Roundup. You may be asking what a Kindergar-ten Roundup is? It is a day when you can bring your prospective Kindergartner or 1st grader to HVCA to “experience” what a day at our school is like. The stu-dents can be dropped off at 9:00 AM and will need to be picked up at 12:30 PM. Your child will experience the wonders of Mrs. Estriplet’s and Mrs. Bianco’s class-rooms in great detail. We want your child to have an opportunity to see what an HVCA day is like and to help you make your decision about the impact Christian edu-cation will make in your child’s life. Lunch will be pro-vided that day for visiting children. Please contact us at 215.947.6595 or email me at rbianco@myhvca.org to reserve your spot. Spots are limited and we will only reserve them on a first come, first serve basis.
HVCA is in the final stages of its toilet paper/paper towel drive to help the organization A Woman’s Place with their supplies. This is a tremendous organization that helps women who are dealing with or have dealt with domestic violence. Currently we have 23 rolls of paper towels and 31 rolls of toilet paper. Can we set our goals higher? Let us hit 50 rolls of paper towels and 100 rolls of toilet paper. Please be sure to send in your wrapped roll of toilet paper or paper towels by the end of next week (May 11). Thank you so much for your consideration of this worthy cause.

HVCA is having an Open House on February 23rd, 2012 from 4:30pm – 7:00pm.
HVCA is having an „Open House‟ on Thursday, February 23rd for new prospective students. If you know of anyone who is interested in being a part of our school, please invite them to come to our Open House. The times will be from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM and all of our teachers and many of our Board members will be there to answer any questions you may have. Tours of the classrooms will be available and more importantly, “one on one” time will be available with each teacher for any questions or comments they may have. We will also have new registration packets and applications ready to go on that date as well.
If you have a student already enrolled this year, you can help HVCA tremendously be extending a warm invitation for them to visit us at HVCA. If you are a supporter of HVCA and believe in Christian edu-cation, please extend an invitation for a prospective parent to come. Even if the parent doesn‟t feel they can afford HVCA, have them come and we can see what options are available to them. With God in-volved, I believe nothing is impossible. Please share the news!!!!!!
The HVCA Robotics club is very actively getting ready for their Pennsylvania Con-ference Robotics League Challenge on April 1st at Blue Mountain Academy. Students have to build the robot, program the robot, and have the robot perform the functions needed to solve each challenge. It has proven to be a blast watching them come up with the solutions on their own. We hope that you will continue to sup-port our robotics team in the future. Will we see you at BMA on April 1st?

A few years ago, Mrs. Smith (thank you Mrs. Smith) signed HVCA up with the search engine GoodSearch. This search engine pays HVCA for all the searches one does through their portal. If you do any online shopping and go through the GoodSearch portal, we receive a portion of that sale as well. How cool is that? Almost all of us uses search engines in our lives on a daily basis and by using GoodSearch, you can help HVCA raise much needed funds.
What do you have to do? That is easy. Go to www.goodsearch.com. Once you are there, there is a place where you put in our school name “Huntingdon Valley Christian Academy” under the cause you would like to support. That is all you have to do. If you want to sponsor HVCA even further, you can register by using your google or Facebook login and when you do your online shopping, if you go through the GoodSearch portal, you can raise up to 20% of your purchases towards HVCA. This includes sites like Amazon.com, Macys, Buy.com, Office Max, PetSmart, iTunes, WalMart, Target, and tons of others sites. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at school. Thank you for your support.
Are you interested in volunteering at HVCA? If you feel like you have some-thing you want to share with HVCA, please give us a call and we will try our best to get you involved at our school. Thank you in advance.
