What Makes Us Different.

Huntingdon Valley Christian Academy is a Seventh-day Adventist Christian school that provides a nurturing and a safe place to grow and learn for students in Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. We believe in educating the whole student and provide growth opportunities for the spirit, mind, and body. We individualize instruction to meet student needs. We provide guidance that encourages students to think about how to best represent Christ to others using their unique talents and gifts.

Mission

The mission of HVCA is to educate students in the light of God’s word to equip them for a lifetime of learning, leadership, service, and worship.

Vision

To be a Seventh-day Adventist Christian School of influence characterized by a caring community and academic excellence with an emphasis on nature, STEM, languages, music, and service learning.

History

Huntingdon Valley Christian Academy was established in 1969 under the name Greater Philadelphia Junior Academy, as a regional school to provide Christ-centered education for the children of Greater Philadelphia Seventh-day Adventist churches. Prior to 1969, Hatboro Church School served the youth in the area.

The campus has ten classrooms. In addition, the Academy has a gymnasium, classroom libraries, an interactive playground system, and large paved play area. The school is situated on approximately twenty acres of beautiful nature-preserved-type land, which includes meadows, a small meandering stream, and wooded areas.

Philosophy

Our philosophy is that all children can achieve excellence. We believe that God has uniquely gifted each person and that we, as a school community, are responsible to develop those gifts to their full potential. We strive to help children discover God’s purpose for their lives and to follow Christ’s example of loving service.

Our program seeks to educate the whole child -mind, body, and spirit. Learning at HVCA is supported by rigorous academic standards. Our curriculum is infused with project-based learning activities that facilitate mastery of core subjects.

In our content-rich learning environment, children are engaged in the arts, physical education, music class and extracurricular opportunities. Most importantly, we encourage students and all members of the HVCA community to seek a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to discover the joy of service for the benefit of others.

Commitments

In order to provide the finest education for our students, we commit to maintain:

Biblical values as the core of our education system.

A safe, diverse, and an inclusive environment for growth and learning.
