Goal of teaching:

My goal is to instill confidence in my students and to help them express themselves through music ministry.

Hobbies:

Reading, playing the piano, karate, visiting friends, talking on the phone and texting, etc.

What I like about my students:

What I like about the Pre-K to 6th grade is that they have such a positive outlook on life and their minds are so open to new challenges. What I like about grades 7-10 is that they always want to challenge those in authority. It shows that they are trying to think for themselves and it keeps me on my toes. I always love a good challenge!

How I would describe my personality:

I guess that I would describe myself as a Type A personality. When I believe in something or someone I am their biggest cheerleader. Quite honestly, I am, at times, very bossy and headstrong. I work hard and I play hard.

How I feel about teaching at HVCA:

I thank God for the opportunity to be able to teach at HVCA. I feel weird about it sometimes because when I was a teenager I vowed never to be like my parents. Now, twelve years after I said that, I start my teaching career just like my father; teaching at a Seventh-Day Adventist School in the same state! Irony of ironies!

How I feel about my relationship with God:

Now that I've stopped running from my calling, things have been falling into place for me. Falling in love with Jesus is the best thing I've ever done!

My advice to my students:

Understand the meaning of what it means to really live. Keep asking questions and think for yourselves. You can never find yourself if you follow the words of your friends. You learn more about yourself when you learn more about God.

My advice to parent(s)/guardian(s):

Basically the same as my advice to students. Always ask questions such as:

  1. Did you do your homework?
  2. May I look at your assignment sheet?
  3. How was school today?

Last but certainly not least (this applies to any difficulty):

Did you pray about it?
